Simon Khan is a professional golfer,
playing on the European Tour.
Born in Epping, England on 16th June 1972, Simon turned professional in 1991. Simon captured the biggest title of his career in 2010 when he won the BMW PGA Championship, The European Tour’s flagship event. His one stroke win, courtesy of a closing round of 66 over the remodelled West Course at Wentworth Club, earned him a cheque for €750,000 and a five-year exemption.
First made his winning breakthrough on The European Tour International Schedule in June 2004 when he came back from four shots behind with seven holes to play to defeat Paul Casey at the second hole of a sudden-death play-off for The Celtic Manor Wales Open.
Played consistently well since then with a number of high finishes without adding a second title. Had to go through Qualifying School to earn his card for the 2010 season and did so in emphatic fashion, winning the six-round Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain.
Inspired to take up golf as a 12 year old after watching Seve Ballesteros win The Open Championship at St Andrews in 1984. Introduced to the game by his grandfather. Played golf for Essex at County level before turning professional at the age of 18. A keen Arsenal FC fan.
