Looking back at 2011 I feel a sense of frustration, as I felt my ball striking was good most of the year. The stats show I was 2 shots a round worse on the greens compared to 2005 and 2006. I'm addressing the putting with work on routine and focus, as my stroke is good. Also last year I started the year with a lot of changes in my game, we all strive to improve but you need to remember your own solid principles. I'm very much looking forward to 2012. The season begins for me in Abu Dhabi. I've never started well in Middle East but I’m determined to put that right this year particularly as I always really enjoyed going there. If I can take my 2011 mid season form I know I can do well on all the courses over there.
This year I'm obviously looking forward to the BMW PGA, the US Open and of course, The Open. Royal Lytham & St Annes GC is like a second course to me as I played it a lot growing up and I absolutely love the course. My grandparents live just down the road. So I should get some good local support no doubt! I would like to thank all my sponsors, particularly Computacenter who have been with me now for 7 years and numero who came on board in 2011. Your support means a lot and I appreciate your help.
Thank you to all my fans and my friends and followers on twitter. I never thought I'd be on Twitter but I am and it’s great hearing from you all. However, I must stop using it as a football forum though!
Hope you all have a happy and healthy 2012 and good luck with your own Golf.
Here's to a great 2012.
Regards,
Simon
